Enhanced scatterplot of two predictor
variables with partitions induced by a tree.
Exploratory Modelling Analysis and Ensemble Methods
My current research concentrates on visualization and interactive
analysis of statistical models and the developemnt of efficient
model ensemble methods. The research started as a
visualization of multiple classification or regression tree models and
was generalized later to exploratory model analysis of various model
types.
The list of my current publications can be found in the publications section. My current project in the field of statistical trees and forests is KLIMT (KLassification - Interactive Methods for Trees).
R related projects
For a full list of my projects, please visit
www.rforge.net which holds all my
R-related projects (and some others, too). Some of the more
significant projects are listed below.
iPlots
iPlots is a R package which provides interactive plots for R. This
allows users to perform graphical and explaratory data analysis
directly in R. More details can be found on the
iPlots pages.
rJava / JRI
rJava is a R package providing bi-directional interface between R and
Java. For more details, please visit the
rJava project webpage. My
other, related packages include
JavaGD Java graphics device
(e.g. used by Java GUI for R) and
RJDBC (DBI database driver
for R using JDBC).
Rserve
Rserve is a server providing R functionality to other applications. I
have developed Rserve primarily for KLIMT, but for its versatillty
other projects are now using Rserve as well. You can find more details
on the Rserve pages.
R for Mac OS X
I am maintaining R for Mac OS X and developing the corresponding
GUI. See my R for Mac webpage
for details.
R graphics devices
I have developed several back-ends for R graphics, such as
Cairo (vector, bitmap and
display graphics using cairo graphics library),
GDD (bitmap using libgd),
xGD (remote R graphics).
